The Project

This project for full backyard hardscaping in Irondequoit transformed an outdated and underused space into a cohesive outdoor living area built for both function and visual impact.

The project began with the removal of an old pond that had collected years of leaves, debris, and sediment. Proper excavation and fill work created a stable foundation and opened up new possibilities for the space. The full pond removal process can be seen in our Pond Removal project.

With the area cleared and prepared, a new paver patio was installed directly over the former pond location. The patio now serves as the main gathering area within the yard and provides a clean transition between different outdoor features. Details of that phase are shown in the Paver Patio Installation project.

To further enhance the space, we incorporated a natural stone patio built using reclaimed rock from the original pond, along with a chimney-style stone fireplace constructed at the edge of the patio. These elements were designed to complement one another and create a unified outdoor environment. By reusing on-site materials and carefully planning each phase, the finished backyard feels intentional, balanced, and built to last.

How the Backyard Came Together

This project required coordinating multiple hardscaping elements into a single, cohesive design. Our approach included:
